To my Big Brother CONRAD. My time with you was very limited but you always talked with me and warmly welcomed me. I do remember during the War we would be put under the stairs at our parents home and Con would make me stay and he would be speaking very carefully when the German warpIanes would fly over. I was1-6 years old during the war but saw very little of him later for when I went to Bargoed grammar school I found homework took up most of the time. Occasionally I saw him when he was at the Technical school in West Street. Then he was in night school and then went to Treforest Technical college. I went Nursing and had to live in, away from home, in those days. Then he was on national service in the RAF. I met up with him again when he met Shirley and when he was living in Newport ( they just had Mark). Then I went to Cardiff Infirmary to work. He then transferred to Dungeness power station in Kent but contacts lessened after that. Conrad never missed a Christmas card (thanks to Shirley)!!! I've been living in South Africa since 1975 so relied on written communication. Conrad was always available on the rare occasions we visited the UK. Thank you for the MEMORABLE MOMENTS. Your Loving Sister Val.
